Chromatographic Fingerprinting of an Ayurvedic Formulation by High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography Method

In the present study, an attempt has been made to develop a high-performance thin layer chromatography fingerprinting of gallic acid, piperine and curcumin from Ayurvedic formulation, Dekofcyn tablet. Chromatographic separation was achieved on plate pre-coated with silica gel 60F254 as stationary phase. The solvent system consisted toluene:ethyl acetate:formic acid:glacial acetic acid in ratio (5:3.5:1:1 v/v/v/v) respectively. retardation factor value calculated at 0.35 (±0.02), 0.66 (±0.02) 0.89 for Densitometric analysis carried out isoabsorptive mode 295 nm. regression range 100-700 ng/spot piperine, 400-1600 coefficient all three markers found be 0.99 Validation method performed according international conference hominization guidelines Q2 (R1). This can also used evaluate other formulations containing these one constituents, thus conforming need ensuring quality formulation.
